Im nervous a lot just because of my speech i always think what im going to say or sometimes when answering to a person that i dont know. I think Nervousness has a lot to do with stuttering. For me basically the stuttering has to do with being nervous a lot.

i don't think stuttering has that much to do with nervousness. at the same time its definitely a psychological thing since pretty much all of us can speak fluently when we're alone so we know its not anything physiological.

for some reason, we never learned how to speak WITHOUT thinking about HOW we are saying the words. normal people just think about WHAT they want to say; we think about HOW and WHAT we want to say; thats the problem.

i have a weird problem. sometimes when i just meet a person, i'm fluent but the more i get to know them, the more trouble speaking i have. what tends to happen is that, because in the beginning i was fluent, i find myself having to hide the problem later on when i get to know them better hence i become a "covert" stutterer. thats why i developed all my techniques in hiding it.

ello. I'm new to this forum. I think its very very awesome to have a site like this. I'm a student who's currently in 8th grade. I've never met anyone but my Dad who stutters and I can't really talk to him about it. It seems a contraband subject almost. Anyway I don't stutter that much. Its more of a sometimes thing. I'm not POPULAR but i got friends. I'm a funny guy but this stutter is like an incessant nusance. I wish it would just leave. I would be able to answer far more questions from teachers, score much more with chicks, and be much funnier if it wasn't for this stutter. How do you guys deal with this?

I think the main cause behind stuttering is the fear of people.I never stutter when i speak to my pet dogs, sing, read or speak in chorus. Its only when i speak to people and thats where it hurts the most.
I have a medicine for stuttering which is a homeopathic medice its name is 'stomoniom'.Many people have adviced me for this but i personaly feel it cant be cured just by a medicine. It dint help me a great deal either.

argh, i cant stand this mind boggling thing.

its really wierd huh ? how can we sing, and not stutter then talk and stutter.

i cant think of anything. what do we do when we sing that makes us not stutter ? i think if we all brain storm ideas, we could get some good techniques going.
