:) I've been a stutterer my entire speaking life (about 30 years). From what I've gathered by reading or hearing about the experiences of other stutterers, I am definitely not alone out there in how I feel when I stutter.
My hope in participating as a member of this website and these forums is to engage in friendly dialogue with other stutterers. I hope that by sharing my personal life experiences I can help someone out there who may be struggling with their stuttering. At the same time, I would like to learn how others cope.
I've resigned myself to the fact that I will be a stutterer for the rest of my life. That's OK with me. Do I want to speak more clearly? Sure I do - who doesn't? Do I want that knot in my stomach and the lump in my throat to go away before I speak at times? Yes! I want these things and more. All I can do is work at it.
