I am sure I have heard these 2 words Introvert and Extrovert on the forum before.

One of the questions on the survey made asked if we were Introverted or Extroverted at the time our stuttering began.

I was unable to answer that question.

I did not know what those 2 words meant, so I put for my answer "I don't know what those 2 words mean".

So what does Introverted and Extroverted mean??

Unfortanetly, I cannot change my answer from what I put down for that question.

That stupid 5 minute edit thing will not let me change my answer!!

Based on a good definition if anyone can help me out, I will be able to post on this thread wheather I was introverted or extroverted at the time of the stutter crap.

Can't you just use dictionary.com
introvert [(in-truh-vurt)]

A term introduced by the psychologist Carl Jung to describe a person whose motives and actions are directed inward. Introverts tend to be preoccupied with their own thoughts and feelings and minimize their contact with other people. (Compare extrovert.)

extrovert [(ek-struh-vurt)]

A term introduced by the psychologist Carl Jung to describe a person whose motives and actions are directed outward. Extroverts are more prone to action than contemplation, make friends readily, adjust easily to social situations, and generally show warm interest in their surroundings. (Compare introvert.)

Dictionary.com is a great way to find the definitions I was looking for, but I guess I wanted to see what other posters thought it meant.

I think everyone has a different way of explaining what Introvert and Extrovert mean.

Well now that I know what it means, I am both an introvert and extrovert.

hap - The Myers/Briggs folks build on Jung's approach to intro/extro verts. For M/B, it is more of where you draw your energy from. Introverts find being around others drains energy and need quite time away from others to recharge their batteries. Extroverts find being alone draining and find being with others engergizing.
If you haven't taken one, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test is very interesting. Check it out I think you can find one online.

Is this (http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp) a condensed version of the test you are on about?

Give it a bash Adam, and it will give you a guide as to what you are.

Well, we all already know what you are :p :D

I never heard of that test before. I'm going to give it ago.

Based on the above definitions in your post, I would say sometimes I feel like an extrovert, sometimes I feel like an introvert.

How about an Intraextrovert??!!

On second thought, I just checked out that link to the test you gave me.

It looks very long, and I don't feel like going through a 69 question test!!

I think I'll pass on taking the test, or print it out and take it at some other time.

Don't tell me what you think I am! It's more fun to imagine!
