View Full Version : Something is still tensing up

Alot of times when I start to talk, home or on the radio at work, Something takes awhile to release before I talk. I have my tongue relaxed, throat, mouth muscles relaxed but there is something else that is holding tension. It feels like it's in the bottom of my throat.
I'll go to talk and everything is relaxed but I can't talk until something else in the bottom of my throat gives. It's frustrating that I can't determine what it is.

Eddie,

That's your "voice box." If the tract in your voice box is closed, nothing (including exhaling) is going to happen. If you don't inhale slowly and then relax your vocal tract before trying to speak, you won't be able to speak.

intend to do something OTHER than speak..intend to rest..to just breathe NATURALLY..to just be sitting in a hot tub w/ warm water on your neck... Then, as an afterthought-- begin speaking ..gently..nicely

yeah, I get that, just follow the advice above, it will make way eventually if you give it time. Not the best advice to hear, but that what happens to me.
