Reading out loud

Hey all! I was wondering if reading out loud to yourselves help your stuttering or not. I was thinking about trying it. Thanks!

I have never really tried reading out loud by myself so I don't know. I doubt it would help too much though as probably most stutterers don't stutter all that much when they are on there own anyway. On a related note my friend recently told me that when I read something out loud in his presence I seem to stutter much less than when I am just speaking normally.

I find it a big huge help when I put the time aside to do it.

I find slow, steady and rhythmical has the most positive effect for me, working on expanding the vowel sounds.
