I'm one of the odd folks that find talking on the phone by and large easier than talking in person.
As my job involves a lot of phone (calling and answering) I no longer feel my pulse racing and a panic every time I have to use it. Familiarity and all that.........

I also stutter more when I'm on the phone. I'm not quite sure why...maybe because they can't see my facial expressions and body language and can ONLY hear my voice...so knowing that fact kind of freaks me out and makes me more nervous.

My stutter isn't severe...so usually my blocks are noticable, but pretty small. :) I just keept talking when this happens.

My hands use to shake, got millions of butterflies in my stomach and i could not get out a hello when i picked up the phone. Today, i don't even think twice and answer the call now. I seem to spend so much time talking on the phone now. i prefer talking to the real person, but then again, on the phone they don't see me making faces or pacing around the room.

I work for myself, and have just taken on a couple of staff, but always answer and make phone calls myself. To start with, I used to tend up so badly I couldn't even say "Hello" or the company name.
Now, it's like second nature so I don't even think about it.

And they don't see the sword swinging either.....
Now the only time you get butterflies is when you talk to me on the phone, isn't it??? :D

Jek - I may be delusional, but I think I talk to dead people on the cellphone which makes me feel real stupid for stutterering.
