Dose anyone take offense to the character named "Jimmy" on the show called South Park? The reason why i say this is because he has a severe stutter, and i think they kind of make fun of him and to us.

They poke fun at a lot of things on the show. And besides, the character is lovable. I'm not offended.
Yup, not offended in the least...

I don't like that show in general, lol.
But yes, I am kind of offended at things like that...

South Park also has a whole episode dedicated to offendign people with ginger hair (like me)..however, I find it hilarious.. The jimmy character does pang me a little bit but that just reminds me to desensitive myself from my stammer/stutter..
I am not offended. This may sound strange, and surely some will disagree, but I sometimes think having characters in TV or movies that stutter helps to raise awareness of people like us (assuming it's done in a tasteful way of course).
The biggest problem/fear I have in speaking situations is how other people react to it, and in return, treat me because of it. I find it is only the people that are not familiar with stuttering that are the ones who have a negative or ignorant reaction. People that know how common it really is, and have seen it before, have zero reaction.
Think about meeting someone in a wheelchair, or someone who is hearing impaired. There was a time when this was rare to encounter, and it was not uncommon for people to have negative reactions as a result of either ignorance or the simple lack of understanding.
Now you see it all the time, including characters in movies, television, etc.. You meet someone in a wheelchair nowadays and that physical attribute probably doesn't even cross your mind.
It is almost sad to say that entertainment is one of the ways the general public learns, but it is true. Maybe more characters in TV and movies that stutter will raise the general awareness about it, and it will become something as common ("normal") as other imperfections. The end result of that may even help those that stutter to become more comfortable with it, and therefore more fluent.
Or maybe, I'm off my rocker.;)

I don't think South Park does it very tastefully, or in a way that is going to educate people, because it's South Park. :)
But, it also doesn't offend me, because the show makes fun of all sorts of things. If it only made fun of stuttering, that probably would offend me, but it seems to be offensive in an equal-opportunity way.

That entire show offends me most of the time. I have never liked the show. I don't even think I have ever watched an entire episode.
But in general watching a TV show with a character that stutters is sometimes hard to watch. But I don't think it really offends me.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are always very clear on their position, which they describe as "equal opportunity offenders". They believe (and I agree) that if one thing is off limits, then everything has to be. For example, if it's not acceptable to make jokes about Muslims, then why should it be acceptable to make jokes about Christians, Jews, etc.? Thus, they are actually making a conscious effort to make fun of essentially EVERYTHING that has ever been made fun of.
And on a side note, I think South Park is the most brilliant show currently on TV.

I never even knew South Park had a character that stuttered, shows how much TV I watch :)
I doesn't bother me at all. As other has said, the show makes fun of everyone. I think for me to set upset at something once it starts to effect me is a bit rich. It's like a mad gunman spraying a crowd with bullets and me standing there saying "I don't care what he's doing but point the gun towards me and I'm calling the police"
There was also that English show with the guy that had the corner shop and the name of it has completely escaped me now (can't blame stuttering for this one). I though that was funny, even though i was often referred to as g,g,g,g,Granville at school :p

All to often people take offense at South Park while missing the key point of South Park. South Park makes fun of everything that is PC. For example, Jimmy's character is a combination of all the negative stereo types of various types of people combines into a single character. South Park is not making fun of the handicaps but making fun of the stereo types that the American society has created for those handicaps. Watching South Park with that insight totally changes what South Park is... essentially South Park is simply making fun of American Society and its self-centered attitudes. In the movie "Operation Blacky" was not making of blacks, but instead was making of how America has treated blacks all through time.
