I am glad I found this site. Im AMG and I have stuttered all my life. The funny thing is this, I have always had to speak in front of crowds and communicate with people on all levels. People would tell me they never knew I had a speech problem and I be like, are you crazy? Being a athlete i knew the spotlight was on me at all times so i would practice everyday what I would say to people when they interviewed me. Growing up I had no problem talking to women, they would always say you have a way with words. I guess I tried to be extra cool and talk slow and use words that I could get out. Went through high school, college and getting my masters and yes I still stutter. being able to listen to others who didnt stutter say words wrong made me work hard to pronounce my words correctly. Music is the trick, it works wonders. But I did have a down side, people who wanted to advance ahead of me would uncover it and bring it up. That was the toughest thing to handle as a kid. I used it to my advantage, I would develope other skills that would over shadow my stuttering so people would be like so what he stutters but he can sing his ass off or he has a great body.

Glad to find this forum
