I noticed I stutters more when I am lack of sleep. I stutters lesser when I get lots of sleep.

How about the rest of you?

I read the threads in this forum that says people who stutters tend to have high Dopamine level in the brain.

But I also read elsewhere that Dopamine levels can be depleted by lack of sleep and high stress.

So why do I stutters more when I am lack of sleep?

Lack of sleep can lead to many things, not only stuttering.

If lacking of sleep can make one not do well in examinations, i believe stuttering will be worsen too.

Sleep is a very important health factor in humans/animals.

I think not having enough sleep will lead to many many abnormal behavior. Some people tend to be more irritatable too. Some have bad temper, some migraines, etc. I believe some stutters will stutter more often if they have lack of sleep. Lack of oxygen and rest to the body, thus these are the side effects of the day.

What do other members feel about this?

Too true about the effect of lack sleep.

Some nights, when I am busy on my computer programming or researching, I tend to worry about the next day as I just know I'll be tongue-tied and clumsy with my speech, not to add stutter-prone.
